IFTTT Erfahrungen

It does what it says it does. It is my free ( I use the free) assistant that automatically posts a product (or post) to a particular social media account when triggered by a certain action or actions, saving me loads of time and helps me sell!

Some of the apps are weak, created by folks that may not have known what they were doing, and they end up failing a lot. But it is not all and I am notified when they do!

The simplicity of it. When applied well, automation can make your life radically more efficient - both in a professional and personal context. IFTTT presents these possibilities to users in a simple and easy to understand way. You can select existing automation flows by just selecting tiles and flipping a switch.

I've set up multiple automation flows with IFTTT over the last few years but none of them have run more than a couple of weeks, for the simple reason that they didn't work or didn't work consistently. The idea of automation is that things you need to happen, happen automatically... every time. If that is not the case, you can't count on it and the whole idea kind of comes crumbling down. It's only as valuable as its reliability and that is just not good enough with IFTTT.

You can use IFTTT (If This Then That) via web or app. I mainly use the Android app, and it works great. There are literally thousands of "recipes" that you can use to cook up some great automation. Examples include creating a daily Google Sheet of the temperature that day, disabling Wi-Fi and bluetooth when your phone battery gets low, etc. You can either use existing "recipes" that others have created, or you can create your own. Very handy app!

Sometimes the possibilities seem a little daunting to me, but you just need to use what you understand and need. Don't let it overwhelm you.

I was 15 when I got to know about IFTTT. I used the same when we first started automation in our business.
- We used it to make social media posts whenever we added a product.
- Unlike Zapier, and other alternatives like Pabbly, we just love the IFTTT interface. Its extremely easy and the color coding makes it even better to use.
- Not a single line of code is needed ever. Very easy for newcomers to get a hang of.
- Present on all operating systems, with dedicated apps.
- Compatible with a huge amount of services.
- Works with voice assistants, something that I prefer.
- Well executed and practical linkages.

- Multistep automations are not free.
- There is a lack of complex functionalities, and enterprise centric functions, that compelled us to switch.

We mainly use it to send notifications to our Slack channels when a certain client emails a certain department.

It lacks some integrations with some latest AI tools, but hopefully they will add those soon.

Over the last couple of years, IFTTT has begun to focus a lot more on smart home automation - but there are still some really great triggers available.

Using simple logic triggers you can make two different (or even the same) apps communicate and complete actions for you. There is a great user-generated base of ideas for things you can do with the application! It's a great place to start if you either aren't particularly comfortable with technology, or just want to explore what can be done.

Some of my favourite actions are - sending me a text when it's supposed to rain or snow the next day. Sending a text with a quote of the day. When I clap for an article on Medium - it will pin the article to a board on Pinterest. Tweet instagram photos with a particular hashtag. Sync your profile picture on Facebook and Instagram.

The list goes on. There are also "Buttons" which are manually triggered actions, where you can have an icon available on your phones home screen to - for example - text your partner that you are on your way home.

Love it - couldn't live without it.

Zapier has begun overtaking it in the volume of apps available to integrate with. But - if you have a smart home, or multiple smart-devices - IFTTT will be a valuable tool for you.

I can post to social media, without being there. Vital for the followers on other side of the world. It meshes with so many sites and apps so you can get a lot done, while getting a lot of other stuff done.

Sometimes it stalls out on me. Not too often, but it does. It doesn't work well with self hosted WP , ongoing issue. There's some services id like to make my own integrations for, but a few aren't so clear as to how to do that. It should also have a duplicate reminder, I've had it double posting before, and took days to figure it out, by that time damage was extensive

it is effective and pffers a number of pre-built recipes to get things done. Also its pro plan is priced aptly so its a great tool to have to run a number of automations.

a number of triggers stopped a few years ago. Support for scoop.it is not there :(

As a paying subscriber to this service and knowing that I am barely scrathing the surface of what is possible to do, I can recomment this to IoT and home automation integrators.
I basically use the software to keep track my cell phone calls, messages and notifications. It integrates into Android and Google Services and that is what I wanted.

There are still so much more features that can be integrated. I would love to control/schedule functions on my Android phone such as setting Alarm volume at certain times etc.

IFTTT is a great application as it is set it and forget it. Once a function is programmed, I don't have to think about it again until I need the data. This streamlines a ton of processes and helps me stay focused on real work.

I have no dislikes of this product. It has solved a problem for me in an efficient manner.

I like this tool because i can integrate with Facebook ,Twitter and even pinterest , this will be good for online digital marketers.
With this tool i use rss feed and post to my social networks ,
i like the pricing anyone can start for free and set up automation , good for startup companies .
This software you don't need to spend time to understand how to use it , good user interface.

What is great about using this tool in our company is that it allows us to take automation to the next level. In addition, it allowed us to start thinking about our daily work in a new way. How could we do more by doing less and automating more? It also allowed us to set up processes with email so that tracking numbers were sent out automatically and added to our inventory system!

The only con I can think of now is that setting it up and testing it was a bit time-consuming. However, I'd like to add that I'm not an IT/Tech person so if I can do it I'm sure anyone who is more tech-savvy can do it in a snap.

It is very cheap compare to other similar software.

It is currently a bit limited when it comes to webhooks. Or maybe it is just me that not understanding it very well.

You can automatize almost anything. Merging two or more different services, there are tons of things to do. Some of them very easy and quick to setup

As there are lot of thing you can do, there are some services not present. Others where present but there is no longer support for it
