Good inexpensive tool to track fleet

Vorteile
Azuga is an inexpensive solution that is easy to implement. Breadcrumb view allows us to track where our vehicles are currently, where they have been, and what turns were made in transit. We get lots of alerts on speeding and other activities which allow us to follow up with drivers. We also get alerts on check engine light and maintenance reminders.
Nachteile
I wish there were more options with geofences. For example, our fleet will regularly leave its branch office and return within an hour, and that's pretty normal. I would like to be able to send a geofence alert to admins when a vehicle is gone for more than 1 hour, but not send an alert every time it leaves the office during business hours. You can set an alert for vehicles that have been gone for too long, but in that case you are required turn on alerting every time it leaves. This results in a lot of alert noise which we don't need. Also, it would be nice to create time based custom alerts (e.g. vehicle ignition is turned on or leaves a geofence after hours).
I also think the jobs interface could be improved more, for better dispatch and route optimization for drivers. e.g. Address Book and route plotting options through the web gui.

I hope marketing has 100’s of thousands of modules in stock so when Oregon starts up the program they will be available so you don’t get caught with your pants down! Suggest that when you send out the monthly statements you can get a stripped down version as well day to day 5 pager. A one pager with a roll up and include what’s left in the bank as well. Francis
Vorteile
Easy to use, works in the back ground with no worries. Badges have changed my driving style. No more jack rabbit stares and try to avoid hard braking except when someone cuts you off. Daily run down shows how much the additional use will be approx 30 cents daily less than a soda. Map really shows the intersections to be more careful at. Showing how much gas I waste waiting at very long intersections and RR crossings is a wake up call. Staff answers when I quiz the system are spot on! VERY EASY to add money when the bank is low. I honestly think when Oregon goes to OREGO next year Azuga will get the lions share of the business except those like my older 4Runner that has OB1 outlet and doesn’t report info except for blinking lights. Hope you also come up with a module for OB1 vehicles as well!
Nachteile
When our daughters car is below 12.3 volts I get a repeated warning. They could tweak that lower. Les Schwab shows it is a good battery and alternator. Never does it in the summer only winter cold days. NOTE the module could be trimmed down a few mm. Our 2016 Focus is 1/8 to big and door keeps popping open. Fixed that by screwing the door closed. Also when the dealer checks the car, disconnecting the module is annoying. Fixed that too. Put a splitter so the module is not disconnected. Also I have State Farm module that pretty much does the sale thing yours does to get reduced insurance, progressive does the same thing. HEY why not combine your program with insurance companies so you can share the same module and same information so you don’t have to to buy a splitter so both can share the info.

Buyers be aware. AZUGA hides this information from you and does not discuss it upfront.
"Each Subscription Term will automatically renew for the original term of the period of upon its expiration unless either party provides notice of intent not to renew in writing prior to 60 days before the end of the then current Subscription Term. For example, a customer that signs up on Jan 1 2018 for a 3 year period will be automatically renewed for a further 3 years on Jan 1 2021. Except as otherwise stated in the applicable order form, subscription fees are non-refundable and may change at the end of a Subscription Term."
Any company that has to force you to stay or with them or pay and auto renews your accounts for multiple years without alerting your organization shows with their actions that they don't have your best interest in mind. They are playing the "legal" game to entrap you.
Pay thousands to leave or stay bc of an auto renewal that was never brought up.
In summary, their business practices are not designed to keep the organization accountable to the quality of their services. They are designed to entrap you.
The cards are stacked against you. You will not receive a copy of this agreement even after signing the proposal. You will receive a copy of the proposal but never of the terms or auto renewal and financial penalties for cancelling even after you completed your original commitment.
Switched to OneStep and we've not had one issue with data or connections. Company is very responsive and we are actually paying almost the same except this time we have cameras facing forward and inside the vehicle as well as the data is always available and working properly. Our experience with AZUGA was not a positive one and it never worked 100%.
From their site " a customer paying a monthly fee of $40 for a software and hardware lease bundle who terminates 6 months after the contract effective date would be required to pay $40 x 30 months remaining = $1200 per vehicle/unit."
You could pay as much as $1,200 per vehicle to cancel even on an autorenewal which you did not sign up for.

AZUGA Fleet is a great solution if you want to keep your oprations costs down and make your business more profitable. The platform is friendly and easy to use, also allows you to build the right hierarchy based on the structure of your company, meaning that you can build your reports based on gtoups, regions, buisness division and keep full visibility in a high level or granular. The reporting gives you the opportunity to measure performance and tendencies, so you can see how your business is improving with the time.

Vorteile
We have a fleet of over 150 vehicles with Azuga installed. They have a partnership with our insurance company, so it is free for us. I feel it is an excellent product. We have another product in some of our other vehicles and will eventually be switching all to Azuga. Very user friendly with great reporting features. The customer service has been outstanding.
Nachteile
The only down side is that it does not readily sync with our Routing and Planning software for our buses.

After over a year of frustration I finally got a manager to assign me a customer service agent in the US who could fix the spreadsheet of many issues needing corrections after much effort on my part.
Vorteile
I like the pricing the most for the product. I put up with the problems because of the pricing.
Nachteile
Dealing with customer service in India has been the most challenging part of my experience. They are nice and say they’ll send a return shipping label & never do without months of multiple follow up emails & calls. I don’t like that we have to pay for 30 extra days after a device is not being used & cancelled.

Vorteile
The ability to track and maintain vehicle records is important for many businesses. Azuga allows this to happen with little training of office teams nor drivers. Encouraging safe driving behaviors has kept vehicle incidents to a minimum.
Nachteile
The mobile access can be clunky by not updating to our geography and keeps vehicles "nested" on top of each other when they are close to each other.

Vorteile
I'm a user who just wanted to be sure I paid my fair share for the transportation infrastructure I rely on. I signed on to Oregon's taxes by the mile program using Azuga. Recently I went from an older, traditional vehicle to an all electric Kona and simply notified the state and transferred the tool. Simple as eating cake.
What surprised me is getting notices when my former vehicle had a warning light, right down to knowing what part of the car wasn't working correctly. That was icing on the cake!
Nachteile
I had no problems with the software as a user. You would need to get a response from the Oregon Department of Transportation as to how they compare the functionality of various products they used.

I like that Azuga tracks vehicle in real time. I like that mileage is tracked as well. I get real time responses if the Azuga device is removed or gets loose and this allows me to reach out to the site Mangers to have them correct this issue right away.
Nachteile
The turn around reply is sometimes a little slow. I've had an instance where I needed an attachment and it was forgotten to be sent along with the tracking device.

I use Azuga ODB hardware and software as I'm a participant in the Oregon ODOT Project that is looking at overall usage of roads by individuals cars to determine whether taxing individuals in Oregon by the amount of their usage of freeways and roads. So they are collecting data with my participation to help them use the data of my primary vehicle for their research on this topic.
Vorteile
It's easy to use and monitor the telemetry data from the vehicle. I also like that it notifies me if something is out of the ordinary like a low battery or if I have a check engine light what the diagnostic code is.
Nachteile
Nothing I can think of honestly. The product works as expected and provides some handy information as I mentioned in the Pros section above.

It was easy to setup. We are able to update our customers as to the location of the service rep. And it is great for billing time. You know how long your rep was on location and driving time to and from.
Nachteile
We are in a rural area and there are times that the product has connection issues.

Vorteile
Recording speed, hard braking and acceleration (giving percentage grades). Knowing where your vehicles area at all times with maps. Great for having a large fleet when getting State inspections done. Also, amount of time vehicles are idling, trying to save on fuel. We reward a best driver on best percentage on speed, brake and acceleration.
Nachteile
life span on GPS - some are very short lived.

The support team from Azuga has been amazing. They are very quick to respond and take great care to make sure the problems get resolved. They have offered many solutions to help implement GPS tracking effectively.
Vorteile
For the money Azuga is a great value. There are a multitude of great options for fleet tracking and maintenance. The automatic maintenance reminders and check engine light notifications are ideal for making sure your fleet stays in top notch condition. The interface is very user friendly, easy to learn and set up your fleet.
Nachteile
The biggest issue that we ran into and is an issue with all OBD II GPS units is that the GPS doesn't do the best job triangulating the vehicle location because the GPS receiver is located too low in the vehicle with no line of sight to satellites. This issue can be quickly and easily remedied by adding a pig-tail extension to relocate the OBD II device to a better location.

It works well when we self manage it but if we have issues we usually only get a response of "this is handed off to our level 2 team" and thats the last of it unless we stay on top of it.
Vorteile
Safety rating to manage our drivers and being able to create our own thresholds on many of the categories used in the safety score.
Nachteile
Customer Service and the follow up, or lack of, that we get when contacting them. The usual response is that it is elevated to the Level 2 Team, whatever that means. I often wish our stuff was moved to the Level 3 0r Level 4 Team if that would get a better explanation or faster results.

If I have an issue customer support is there to help me whenever I call them. If they can not fix the issue they will go and get the help needed to fix the issue.

My boss prefers 1.0 version as he is having issues getting use to the 2.0 version.
