Not all residents participate in the meetings but are nonetheless expecting to be made known the happenings of the HOA. Since we are self-managed, the software has been able to increase the ability for the board to communicate more effectively with the members.
Also the members having their own account and portal to pay online is a huge time saver in accounting. It also gets them more involved.
Vorteile
The best part of the software is the simple UI with the abundance of features need to self manage a small single family HOA with less than 100 units, all in one place. It has and will continue to greatly improve communication and ease accounting tasks. The technical support when I have run into some bugs has been as I expect, outstanding. THe ability to download CSV files is awesome.
Nachteile
The software has had some bugs with the PDF mailer and identical transactions being deleted. It also needs some accounting reports which are downloadable in formatted version and not just .CSV files; something immediately presentable to a person. The UI in Violations is not quite clear that there is a process; create, submit, and then resolution.

So far, PayHOA has been stellar since we've implemented it. It has only gotten better as time goes by.
Vorteile
We were looking for a system that could track most HOA member's dues and be able to automatically bill, notify and assess late fees as required. PayHOA makes this very easy and streamlined. We have far less billing issues and spend almost no time on it versus doing manual checks or deposits to our HOA checking account from the members.
Nachteile
Most of the issues revolve around contacting tenants of owned properties. It's not super clear to be able to make a sub-contact group of owners / renters so that notifications about local happenings such as street cleanings, etc can be communicated to the people that actually live at the residences.

Vorteile
I am new as an HOA treasurer. Our previous records were custom made in generic spreadsheets. The functionality provided by PayHOA software is a real step forward in organization and transparency with our HOA unit owners.
Nachteile
Takes a fair amount of effort to learn new software and the processes it requires.

Overall, I have been very pleased with the decision to use PayHOA. No system is perfect, but assistance is only an email away with a quick response.
Vorteile
I have been using PayHOA for over two years now. I selected PayHOA because it appeared simple to use, economical and, mostly, provided an opportunity to bypass crooked management companies. There is some work required to input the homeowner address and contact information initially, but all that information should be readily available. Creating invoices and the collection process works seamless. The same for issuing violations and completing communications with homeowners. The audit trail is also great to have when communications are delivered and read. I have also used the function for voting on an important bylaw change. It was very easy and effective. With a bylaw change, I also sent registered mail to all homeowners at a very reasonable rate and was so easy to use. As homes are sold, it is also very easy to archive old records and introduce new homeowners to the system.
Nachteile
There is limited phone assistance for homeowners directly to PayHOA but I do not think there is much need for the assistance. The system is fairly self-maintained, and it is another way to minimize costs.

Our overall experience with PayHOA has been absolutely phenomenal. The team is extremely responsive to any questions that we have and they are very open to feedback to enhance the software.
Vorteile
Being a small community, I really love the affordability and versatility with the software. We have the ability to send emails, text and phone calls to homeowners, which makes it really convenient for communication and tracking. You have accounting, communication and documentation all in one software, which is really beneficial for us.
Nachteile
I don’t think there’s anything that at least like, but some features I would love to see added are the ability to PDF a list of homeowners with their contact information unit numbers and names.
I would also love the flexibility to move documents into various folders without having to download and re-upload the file.

Overall PayHOA seems the perfect platform for condominium association management. It is simple, easy to use, easy to correct mistakes and communicate with tech support as well as clients.
Vorteile
PayHOA has a super easy accounting system to work with. It is simple and easy to learn and has things very useful to property management, especially considering condos only really have a couple of Assets and Liabilities. The system also has very easy ways to resolve problems. The chat function is incredibly useful to resolve technology errors or other important accounting functions. Particularly [sensitive content hidden] is an excellent point of contact, she is very responsive, knowledgable, and very good with following up.
Nachteile
My least favorite thing would have to be relinking plaid to chase and how long the transactions take to pull through. While they are inconvenient, I do believe they are for security reasons and overall for best practice.

We are an 8 unit townhouse HOA and moved from a full-service property management firm to payHOA. payHOA made the transition quite easy to do. Since we've moved over, our lives are much simpler and we have more timely access to information. Plus we are going to save a lot of money!
Vorteile
The system is perfect for a small HOA like ours and does pretty much everything we need. When we've needed to contact payHOA for help, their people are incredibly responsive, competent, and friendly.
Nachteile
There is not much to in that category. It might be nice if payHOA offered some sort of audit feature but not sure we even need that now with the confidence we have in managing our accounts ourselves.

Dealing with accounts in collections.When an account is in collections, there is no easy way, there is a way but not ideal, to prevent that account from paying via the porta which can cause issues with teh collection agency

Cost effective association management and great customer service

Vorteile
After a short learning period, the application is fairly intuitive to use. It has helped facilitate greatly improved communication with our owners - which is essential for a self-managing association. We recently transitioned over to using PayHOA bookkeeping services, and the customer service was top notch - shout out to [sensitive content hidden]! By using their staff, you gain their expertise with the system.
Nachteile
Snail mail batch mailings seem to take longer than expected, but that might be a post office thing...

The service is excellent. The product provides a great communication tool for our Condo Members. We are able to sent timely communication for updates, meeting and issues and everyone receives personal email. The maintenence process is very efficient and we are able to address the needed fixes or address the issues that are owner responsibility. The system works well with all our communications.
Personnally I love the reports that are just a click away.
Vorteile
The product was easy to get started. Pay HOA staff answer the question quickly, provide brief chat sessions for clarification. [sensitive content hidden] has quickly supplied written instructions to make changes and fixes easy. Thank you!!!
Nachteile
I don't have any negative comments. I have been challenged merging bank accounts from our previous managament company and will be happy to start next year fresh. This year just getting all things accounted for and balanced.

The experience has been incredible. I know that there are other software companies out there but we will not find one with the customer service or willingness to implement ideas from our team like PayHOA.
Vorteile
As a management company, we love their ease of use for our team and our clients. They are very communicative with our team when we have questions and solve issues within a very short amount of time.
We have been a partner with them for years and will continue into the foreseeable future.
Nachteile
There isn't anything that we do not like about PayHOA. There have been a few things over the years, but they have been fixed by updates, etc.

We have realized a large monthly savings by switching to PayHOA. Besides the monetary savings, it has saved us from so many headaches! It seems to work all on its' own once you set up parameters.
Vorteile
There are two things that come to mind first and foremost about this application. First, it has an long list of capabilities (probably most of which we are not using YET) which will make our Accounting and Neighborhood Management system a quick & easy process saving time, money & effort. Secondly, as we worked to set up this program, it was very user-friendly and when we had questions and needed human help, it was super easy to get someone on the line and your CS team members are smart, know the program well and seemed eager to help!
Nachteile
Well, so far there is nothing to like least about PayHOA!! We are still learning the vast capabilities of this app so don't use all that's available to us but so far, this is wonderful!

Vorteile
I have only used the Invoicing and Payment module. It is easy to use and has a lot of functionality.When the developer turns over the building to us in November/2023 I look forward to using all the other modules. The biggest challenge will be integrating a Mexican bank into the System. Otherwise PayHOA handles Pesos just like they are dollars, in fact the symbol for a Peso is $.
Nachteile
How can we make it handle a Mexican Bank? This is not a Con because PayHOA was not designed to operate in a foreign country. There is a simple way to trick the system into accepting a Mexican Bank, even if we don't use any functions, e.g., taking payments or online vendor payments.

Vorteile
There are so many features that make PayHOA create, they seem to support every kind of way your HOA would operate. Updates seem to be frequently, the small bugs I notice one day are usually fixed the next time I use it.
Nachteile
More features to protect HOA board member privacy, especially with email communications. Need more configuration options for automated emails.

We have to develop and present a yearly budget for legal requirements. PayHOa does this very well. Ability to track individual payments and provide statements to individual members is easy and vital to our HOA.
Vorteile
Daily tracking of payments. Ability to make a monthly report to our HOA board. Ability to form and watch a yearly budget.
Nachteile
Keeping alignment with our bank has sometimes been a problem. Wish we could track savings accounts.

Overall great. I wish there was a phone number to call for customer service. They never answer. Only way to contact is through email. Response yikes are typically quick it sometimes issues can take 5+ biz days to resolve.

Very positive - this online service has allowed us to run our small HOA without having to turn it over to a management company and all the extra fees that would incur.
Vorteile
Provides great communication to all homeowners alerting them to news and information, allows both group and individual emails, plus billing/accounting updates. Customer service has been great and very helpful.
Nachteile
As of this writing, we have not found any offered features or services that we did not like or use.
