My overall experience with CampMinder has been A++. I became director in April, so even during the Summer I did not quite know what I was doing on CampMinder and definitely did NOT feel comfortable using it (SO thankful for my tech savvy assistant director). As soon as Summer Sessions ended I started using CampMinder daily and calling when I had questions, whether it's that I have called so much and they have completely walked me through how to use it by now or I just spent time figuring it out myself, I am completely dialed in on this deal and can navigate almost as well as anyone else. A big shoutout is due to the CampMinder staff. So grateful for them. I have recommended CampMinder over and over to Camps on a popular Facebook page "Summer Camp Pros", making sure they know this is THE Camp System of America, no doubt. Thank you CampMinder for all you do for us, Happy Campers here at Kiowa because of you.

What I like most about this software is the bulletin board full of information I want to see without having to navigate through different tabs. Another HUGE pro is how comfortable I feel to Call customer service/support when I do not know how to do something, they are so nice and soooo helpful.
Nachteile
This is not an actual con but something I need to improve for myself...There are so many settings I don't remember what to do sometimes to receive the information I am looking for.

Vorteile
It's truly hard to find anything wrong with this amazing product. There are always tweaks that can be found when a system has been used for a while, but our experience has been wonderful and worth every penny!
Nachteile
Making the system more smart phone friendly for forms and payments as well as registration would be something our camp parents would suggest. The system uses a lot of bandwidth because of it's massive abilities, and while this is a positive, in very rural settings it can be a negative at times as well.
My least favorite part of it is that the set up for our particular camp programs does not pull enrollment from the overall capacity, so we have had to set up a system outside of it to manage our programs. This is because we run 3 programs in every session and the programs don't communicate with overall capacity. We hope this will change soon. We're also anxious for parents to be able to set up their own autopay options without our staff needing to manage these choices internally.

Displeased. It has taken several years to get just the beta version of adult registration despite many promises. The greatly advertised unified person record came to be years after other companies had done the same thing.
After attending CampMinder Camp two years ago, I felt that the company really likes to talk about how cool and first rate they are but I've just not seen that in reality.
Vorteile
Customer support is incredible. Probably to the frustration of CampMinder, we very rarely use the built in ticket or community forum features because a phone call always gets the job done in minutes. CampMinder support is willing to walk me through unique reports and troubleshooting very quickly.
Seasonal staff on boarding is great.
Nachteile
On the program side of things, the cabin assignment module is pretty clunky and many of the simple reports require too many steps to be easily taught to seasonal staff. Overall, I think that the program looks and acts like it was made 10 years ago.
One of my biggest disappointments is the mobile app. It is so limited in functionality and crashes often. When it works, all it is really able to do is act as a super slow contact information database.

CampMinder is a vital system for summer camp management

Vorteile
It is so user friendly, and allows me to access so much information in so many ways. The scheduling tab has saved me hours of doing that by hand, and the reports that I can run tell me quite literally everything I could possibly need or want to know. Their customer support is some of the best I've ever worked with as well. I always joke that when I call them I'm calling my "best friends" because they are always so kind and helpful. They are also always very understanding of the hectic environment that a summer camp can be.
Nachteile
It can be a little overwhelming to learn to use at first, but once you learn it's very user friendly!

My Client Success Manager was extremely helpful and patient during my training. The entire customer service team is friendly, efficient and helpful. When I have a challenging question, they work with me to get an answer. The customer service availability...especially during season, is unbelievable. They are always there to help. The system is easy to use and navigate. We have saved hours of work in organizing and filing paperwork.
Vorteile
I love that we were able to eliminate paper registration. It was life changing to get rid of paper! No more shuffling through binders of paper to access information. Everything we need to know about a camper is at our fingertips. The parents were thrilled...and next year they just have to update.
Nachteile
I was able to work around it...but two things I find challenging are...
1. You cannot send more than one or large attachments through CampMinder emails.
2. There is a bit of a steep learning curve in creating reports with the correct selection criteria.

Vorteile
Prior to CampMinder we had constant complaints from parents about our registration process. More times than not, they would end up calling us to register by phone. Our parents love the streamlined process, the features being all in one place from forms/documents to photos, and options for different payment plans. Our camp fills every year and this would not have been possible without CM. Do you have an amazing program but awful registration process? CampMinder is for you! Our Directors LOVE and rely upon the accessible and extremely helpful customer service and data-ops team. This customer service experience is simply unparalleled.
Nachteile
I would love to see:
-More options for gender
-Simply capacity limits for additional options
-Better photo options

It's been a pleasure transitioning to Campminder . The tools available to run the admin portion of camp is outstanding. The support is prompt and they are diligent when a problems in listening and making changes.

Parent interface is outstanding. The app satisfies the parents needs to keep on top of forms while being able to view their childs progress at camp

The online help tools were lacking, however they have made great strides this year in updating the online tutorials...thank you!

Very positive. Hands on staff, always available, always there to provide additional assistance and training. It was great working with them. Seamless to integrate our stuff in and also to export.
Vorteile
I liked the value for your buck. I also liked the fact that it was a lead based application which allowed us to use it as a CRM. I like that it is an annual plan for a very affordable rate with unlimited users and staff with full or restricted access.
Nachteile
That there were some features that could not be changed or moved or deactivated. It is not yet ready to be a CRM/registration system for other programs or age groups beyond camp. I wish it was there, maybe in a few years.

Vorteile
I love how this software shows me everything I want to know when registering my campers and hiring staff. I feel like I finally know what's going on at all times.

Absolutely wonderful. I've never had an "I'm struggling with" situation that wasn't solved. When I occasionally reach out with a Campminder wish, I usually get the response that they are aware of how convenient an addition to the program would be and they are already working on it.
Vorteile
The program is really what you make of it! Camps all run so differently that it must be nearly impossible to create something that appeals to so many. Not only have they managed to do that, but are constantly working on upgrades to the system and educating their customers on different aspects of the program we could be taking advantage of. I attended "Campminder Camp" this year where they held classes on things not all camps are aware they offer as well as individual meetings with our reps, and round table style discussions asking us what we would like to see in the future.
Nachteile
The scheduling is difficult, but every scheduling program for camps is difficult.

I LOVE this software. I am much more efficient completing reports and managing all camper/family information, forms and communications. I can send hundreds of invoices or charge hundreds of credit cards with the touch of a single button!! It used to take me a month with our old software.
Vorteile
I love the ease of use -its user friendly, I can find what I need to find -where I expect to find it. If at any time I need help I can call a real person -who speaks English -and they will be able to help me AT THAT TIME!!!
Nachteile
Remembering to click exactly what I what -each little box I need, is sometimes a hassle. I have to pay close attention, otherwise the reports I create may not be accurate. Although I can tell right away if I didn't click all the boxes -the results show immediately.

CampMinder has revolutionized the way we manage camper paperwork, check in and check out procedures, and health care at camp. Using CM has allowed me as the director more time to interact with campers and less time spent in the office.
Vorteile
CampMinder is very easy to use if you are even remotely tech savvy. I love the instructional videos and the articles to help you understand how to set up the system. Tracking a person's history with our camp programs is awesome, allowing us to maintain years of records at our fingertips. Reporting is straight forward and time efficient. I like the bulletin features and being able to tag other colleagues and communicate in a way that directly links to a person's profile page.
Nachteile
It does not meet all our needs as an organization. We need a way to manage property reservations outside of summer and were told that was platform was being added to CM. We have yet to see it and therefore need to pay for yet another software platform. The customer-facing side, CampInTouch, is clunky compared to other companies and the ability for camps to customize what customers see is limited. Our most common questions revolve around camper guardians being unable to find information packets on CampInTouch, in part because they blend in with camper paperwork. It seems like CM was designed more for large east coast style camps where the campers stay for several weeks. There are far less useful features for those of us who have one-week sessions.

Vorteile
As the Executive Director of a non-profit summer camp and retreat center, I am constantly pulling up data from one of our camper families or donor families (i.e. last time they were here, what programs do they attend or which services they purchase. We have used Campminder as for our registration software for about 10 years now. It is reliable and provides me with the relevant information I need. As with all software, it takes a little bit to learn how to navigate, but we have had excellent customer service and it is a good value for a mid-sized operation.
In addition to using their software to register over 3000 campers each summer. We also make good use of their staff onboarding and management tools. We process over 150 applications for seasonal summer jobs through Campminder. Applicants submit their application, W-2s, I-9, and background screening forms, etc., all online through Campminder. If someone is missing paperwork it notifies them. This saves us so much staff time and headache.
Nachteile
If we could improve one thing about CampMinder: we really wish it would integrate with Zapier to further streamline our marketing and social media efforts.

The software is very easy to use and each summer when I get seasonal help, there isn't an issue with someone learning it at all. Customer service is great. Have been waiting for the groups/family module since 2011 though when we first signed on with CampMinder. The company has become very popular and the number of camps using the software now leads to LOTS of requests for updates and changes so it sometimes takes a long time to see a change because everyone wants the same info but in a slightly different way or more detailed, etc. Still I am very happy with CampMinder.
Vorteile
The ability to basically create almost any report that we need. In comparison to the last software product that we used this is miles ahead. The customer service is awesome. Everyone is helpful and professional, friendly and they make sure that they get an answer for you. Have been with them since 2011.
Nachteile
We do run into issues at the end of the season with trying to find out exactly what funds we brought in. Simpler way to see exactly what money you took in as a total without running all the charges, credits, discounts, etc. Also waiting for the groups and family module to be available and hope that it will be separate from the camping side.

Overall, I have enjoyed my experience with Campminder because of how responsive they are to customer feedback. As stated above, the consistency with which they seem to upgrade and fine tune the operational aspects of the program says a lot about them as a company. Every year it gets better or smarter. This is helpful and something that I've come to expect from them now. That there will always be a new feature or two to learn each new season.
Vorteile
For us in the office the program is great. Easy to use report features, for custom information and camper issues, etc. I get quite a bit of feedback from parents that they find the Campminder system easy to use as well which is important. I love that the folks in charge are consistently working to improve all aspects of the system.
Nachteile
It doesn't allow us to register our volunteers each week so they are "in the system". It is nice to have all participants print on the same documents and in one place for insurance and other record keeping. I keep working on ways around it...and will figure it out someday.

I wish every company had the customer service skills that CampMinder does. They are always very quick with any inquiries and are constantly taking feedback and using it to improve their platform.
Vorteile
CampMinder is extremely user friendly and has completely revolutionized my job. We were able to do away with 1,000s of paper forms and Excel sheets and have all of our camper and staff information all in 1 database. From camper registration, forms, staff hiring, and camper bunking, everyone in our organization has greatly benefited from CampMinder.
Our parents love how much simpler it is to register, fill out forms, and view summertime photos of their campers all in the same system as well.
Nachteile
The fundraising section leaves a lot to be desired, but is still helpful for sharing information between our staff.

I wish every business was more like CampMinder - truly motivated by the community they serve, constantly seeking to improve and build on an already great product, and truly kind and invested in the work we do.
Vorteile
CampMinder is the perfect solution for our camp - it let's us work more efficiently and focus more on our campers than paperwork! The thing I love most about this company, is that they are constantly updating, growing, and changing to stay current with the trends in our industry. Their customer service is incredible - I can't tell you how many times I've called with a crazy request or question, and they have a solution.
Nachteile
Our camp has some very specific needs that don't fall into some of the traditional models they provide. That being said, the customization features of their forms and modules allows us to create a CampMinder that is tailored to our specific needs. They were incredibly helpful in the process of determining how the software could best fit our exact needs.

Vorteile
Excellent customer support, user-friendly, and a dream for gathering statistics. We're able to run reports easily, make notes, and scan information that we can access from year-to-year.
Nachteile
We wish we could schedule emails and attaching photos in emails is a little difficult.

We offer financial assistance to many of our campers and many of our donors want to know specific information about our campers' demographics. CampMinder helps up collect all the information we need quickly and easily.
Vorteile
The CampMinder software is so robust that I can create all kinds of reports to learn all kinds of things about our campers. I have never had a problem reaching someone from customer support when I cannot figure out how to do something, but usually I can find my answers in the videos. I also like being able to do the billing through the program. The program is so good that it saves my employer money because they only need a part-time registrar.
Nachteile
The definitions list in the reports building section is not as intuitive as it could be.

Great product - growing company

Vorteile
I love what it does in terms of organizational management. We have used three different programs over the past 15 years and it has handled it has worked the best.
They work closely with you on customizing your needs and making sure that you are set up to use it best for your site.
Nachteile
The photo plug in has much to be desired. It works but often struggles. It would also be great if they could build in a plug in that res'ed down the pictures for camps that have slow internet on site.
Their company is great and customer service is awesome when you can get them on the phone. We started with them pretty early on and as they have grown, it has been harder to get a hold of support.

We have realized the benefits of being able to have organized communication, records of our campers, and a system for parents to use to apply and continue with their child's enrollment!
Vorteile
I love how we are able to use the tag system to organize our campers effectively. It works great for what our program is trying to accomplish. I love how we can organize our data, too.
Nachteile
Campminder has not always been the easiest for our staff to learn how to use. I wish that there were ways to make it easier for new users!

Camp Minder has proven to be a good way to manage camp enrollments, providing payment flexibility to our camp families. Our Camp Directors appreciate the ability to set up bunk plans, track medical and other data, and create custom reports that fit their needs. The staff at CampMinder is attentive to our needs, and provide prompt replies when questions arise.
Vorteile
Ease of use for Camp Directors in managing/scheduling camp enrollment.
Some flexibility in reporting capabilities.
Ability to perform monthly payments electronically.
Ability to offer various payment terms.
Nachteile
Financial portion of the system is not very robust. Minimal amount of financial reports available.
When exporting data to Excel, all sessions being attended by one child dump into one column. Could separate this within Excel; however, number of additional columns needed is not consistent.

Easy to use but can use some improvements

Vorteile
I like the fact that you can store all campers and staff data in one place and that it really helps manage things like paperwork, notes about the individual, treatments, and their history with our camp. I also like the fact that if you can't figure something out you can either head over to the help section and see how to find the solution or you can contact a customer support and they can get you what you need to know.
Nachteile
The way that it is set up could be a little more user friendly. There are buttons and tools that don't make a lot of sense as to where they are in the menu. It is also hard when you are relying on this software to keep track of important information and there are a lot of outages. You should always have a back up system just in case.

We love using Camp Minder parents love it we love the ease of setting it up. We love how Camp Minder listens to your feedback. It adds new features often.
Nachteile
It is on the procedure side but worth it. In my opinion there are different options and packages for pricing to help big and small Camps/

We as an organization have loved working with CampMinder. The people and the product are great. They have great customer service and are fun to work with. CampMinder is a team that understands the industry and camp's needs.
Vorteile
The variety of what CampMinder has to offer is a huge benefit.
Nachteile
I am having a hard time coming up with something off the top of my head right now. It is something for us that different people across the organization have more knowledge of certain sections of CM than others do so if you don't use something often it is easy to forget the process.
