The product was easy to use. Uploading your company logo for branding was easy. This program is backed up by fantastic support which I accessed .

Could have smoother transition between estimate and invoice. Should be in same drop down box. Ex convert current estimate to invoice.

I find the estimating features to be easy to use and effective in generating accurate project estimates / quotations.
Leading on to 'Job' stage the historical data and cost plan is essential for reviewing and maintaining project cost controls.
The Variation portal is also very beneficial with submitting and tracking any changes as the project progresses

I dont find the Accounting Software integration to be beneficial as the communication between Xero and Build Xact is not 2-way.

The set out and ease of use is good.
The take off allows for basic functions and calculations.
Job control is good

Bx Has some annoying traits
Take off is slow when a decent template is used. You have to go in and out of the take off for every item.
The program basically shuts down by8:30 , 9pm and is useless.
the email functions eg emailing Po's from the system are so unreliable that we don't use them. We save and email from outlook.
The client portal is not very good and we are not using it.
POs cant be ordered by supplier which is very annoying.
Invoices get scrambled if you try to move the order.

once you. have learned how to use it is very effective an as its cloud based it will allow mobility from one workplace to another an saves time each day.

Sometimes the effectiveness of the actual connection cab be slow and cause issues.

not a great fan of the schedule, im sure its easy to use as well but never got around to it.

I love how it is secure in the cloud with no concerns of back-ups being lost. Also that we can have two uses at the same time.

That it can be a little hard to keep up with features that are added and things changing just as you get use to it.

Copying estimates to fast track the next similar estimate

Employees/subcontractors portal - This would be handy like the client portal to sheer plans, documents for each project so employee's can see all these's documents on the job.

VERY easy program to use, gives a great insight into overall budgeting throughout a particular job, ease of use, generation of invoices, compatible with our MYOB software

It can be a likely clunky with MYOB and generating "design" invoices appears to be sometimes challenging. It would also be great to run cost centre reports

Ease of use and a great way to keep track of jobs/Quotes from start to finish

I feel a dedicated app that could be used onsite would be great although the web browser is ok on mobile

The ease of being able to transfer a price​ list to Build Xact and supply a formal quote​ all in one place is amazing​. All integrated​ with Xero !!

Cannot see the final price figure including​ mark up, on the quoting system before opening​ the quote.

I love that i never have to worry "did i send that order or book that tradie?" It is so easy to issue price requests, purchase orders, work orders and program my jobs/subbies and if i ever need to check that a task has been done i have the reassurance that the systems are in place to control all that communication.

The invoicing when completing cost plus projects could have more options and be more customisable.

Great software and they are continually improving their service offering. Easy to do take offs and manipulate the software to your individual requirements. The support teams are great, always ready to help you and assist you in getting the most out of the software. They continually run sessions on their updates to ensure you are across them. All of their support are based in Melbourne and Australian owned company which is great for local business.

Their quoting system wasn't ideal at the start however they have just released a newer version and it's great.

The video tutorials and the rapid response of the Australian support team

I like Team Gantt how it gives you options to colour code the gantt chart. I used to have all of my carpentry labour a single colour which allowed me at a glance to see if all positions were full each week etc.

Easy and intuitive to use, simple import plans and scaling. Its also easy to used similar quotes as templates.

Labeling all the plan pages takes a while, but once that is done then your off to the races.

The BuildXact software implements very well with our accounting software and makes the task of reconciling job costings hassle free!
I really like the invoice and quote design functionality - the fact that you can customise the design and layouts, and save these templates for future next project is a real time saver, and the quotes come out looking great!
The take-off tool is a game changer, to be able to scale your drawings digitally and calculate required materials using the distance and area ruler saves a heap of time with pricing and ordering materials!

It would be nice to have a mobile app, although not essential.

The integration with email, suppliers and other products is great. The client Portal is another good add on, you can also make suggestion for up grades

Some better training for the the more experienced users, look a t the schedule side of the program. Some subbies and rated the request quote side of things.

We found it very easy to use and easy to teach our employees. We all use it daily!

Aspects of workflow could be better. We came from using on-site companion software, and believe that check-lists would be beneficial.

It's very easy to navigate when it comes to the basics and the proposals you produce look great for clients.

Probably like most programmes, it has a lot of functions that we have to pay for, but do not use. Also annoying when you are putting a proposal together and you enter an item, hit TAB and if there is a receipe it autofills and if it's not what you were wanting, you have to delete the line and start again.

Take off is easy and keeping track of cost is handy.

Actual costs could be intergrated better rather then doing it all manually. Can site management, ohs requirements be introduced.

With some of the roll out of new features, we had some minor hiccups with an old quote being accepted and not all the fields running across

after setting up the recipes for regular used items I found it so easy to use

the software is a little slow, when you are trying to do things quickly, the program tells you to slow down. this is then you are using quick features like setting tasks in scheduling

Accessible from anywhere and any device.

Take off and onscreen measure isn't useful.
Would suggest to add site details on to the job so that it's not manually typed everytime.
