The support is fantastic. Any issues we come across, whether user or system, we get super fast solutions or training advice. The system is cost effective.

Would be great to have more reports and timesheets (we hate having to use Deputy to sync as Deputy is super complex).

The set out and ease of use is good.
The take off allows for basic functions and calculations.
Job control is good

Bx Has some annoying traits
Take off is slow when a decent template is used. You have to go in and out of the take off for every item.
The program basically shuts down by8:30 , 9pm and is useless.
the email functions eg emailing Po's from the system are so unreliable that we don't use them. We save and email from outlook.
The client portal is not very good and we are not using it.
POs cant be ordered by supplier which is very annoying.
Invoices get scrambled if you try to move the order.

The customizable templating and recipes building has streamlined our processes and estimating take offs, reducing time and improving accuracy.

Estimate costing screen needs margin and markup options, and showing the total exclusive of tax

Loving the estimating features, especially plan takeoffs. Bunnings live integration is a must. Buildxact helps to complete the feed back loop on estimating, job costing, actual costings.

Can be a bit complicated, and sometimes restrictive in what you can do once in a job.

The ease of use and customer support is very helpful.

there is a bit of a learning curve and the mobile app could be better.

I have now been in business as a builder since the beginning of 2020 (basically right at the start of COVID). For two years I was using a different platform, and for the past year BuildXact. I was constantly stuffing up my estimates and bleeding money using the old platform, but since changing over to BX and building up my own custom template, I've now done three major extension/renovations through your software and every single one has been profitable!Whilst I'm never satisfied and I'm always tinkering and making improvements to my template, I think my estimates are now really high quality and I'm also winning work based on the professional look of the quote letter.It's been such a massive positive change for my business and I hope my business can remain profitable and healthy into the future using BX and a couple of other handy digital tools.

Costs are high, takeoff features could do with some improvments, no plan annotation feature for use with tablet/ stylus

The entire system functions seamlessly together. I operate the entire company using Buildxact. We would be lost without it.

I suggest updating the scheduling system to allow for color-coding and alerts in case of double booking trades. This will enhance the overall organization and efficiency of the system.

Cloud based system, modern system with a lot of potential to improve functionality. Really easy to measure and take off from plans

Communication regarding feedback on features to improve the system is lacking. It appears the easy features may be addressed while the harder ones are ignored. Cutting lists are not a current feature. Cannot put in future prices rises effective on a certain date

I like that I can use the take-off tool in my role as estimator to assist in the process of our extremely custom & varied business

Upload of plans and ability to delete pages within buildxact is a little clunky

The support is spot on and reliable with a very quick response through the chat software

The reverse integration of Xero to Buildxact ( although I hear it's on its way). Daily logs for staff on site to share progress.

Take off for estimates are pretty good but could still do with more features.

No phone app. Project management needs an upgrade

Its a easy effective way to walk through a project from start to finish.

That there is no material list for the designer. Not everything you put into the invoice needs to be showcased to the client

To have all in 1 software to manage everything from estimates and take-offs through to project management has revolutionised the way we work

There needs to be a 2 way integration created with accounting software (currently it only pushes data over to accounting software, it doesn't bring any data back)

The layout and options with the proposal template, professional looking

As exploded recipes are not available at estimating stage, it has not saved me as much time as I had anticipated.

The ease to develop a new project each time is a great tool. Even allowing the copy a similar project from previous tenders saves so much time. The ability to have separate categories for each trade, and to individually add margin where required is such an integral tool to use. The ability to use existing formulas from historical jobs creates and ease and confidence when pricing. I love the take-off options, that can be used on-site and for others to price,

Nothing really but think the tender letters could have more options aesthetically

That it allows you to carry out everything management and administrative for construction.

Alot of setup required to tailor to your suppliers, trades etc.
As with all software it’s not perfect and still a little clunky but still easier than a manual system
