Google Sheets is an easy to manage spreadsheet app. Working with other in the same time is possible with neat sharing options of a viewer or contributor. Also there are available phone apps for Android and iOS witch makes Google Sheets more accessible.
Vorteile
I consider Google Sheets the ultimate spreadsheet app (at least from what i used until now). I really like it because it works very good and is really fast even with large amounts of data. Another great feature I really like is that the spreadsheet is stored securely in Google Drive and can be accessed from any device, this also makes sharing possible.

A good free alternative to Excel—if you need free

Since I don't use super-advanced features, I would say my experience is mostly fine, but I probably wouldn't go out of my way to suggest the use of Google Sheets over Excel—I would offer it as a suggestion to someone who either didn't have the money to spend on a spreadsheets software or if their intentions were limited to relatively simple or common tasks like making a monthly budget or creating a to-do list.
Vorteile
The basic features of Google Sheets are very easy to use, especially if like me, you spent the first 30 years of your life on Microsoft products. Google didn't reinvent the wheel and most of the functions used in Google have identical syntax to Excel, so you won't spend time re-learning how to sum your rows or columns. If you don't need to do anything overly complex in a spreadsheet, Sheets is an absolutely acceptable alternative to its competitor
Nachteile
While the basic features are simple and easier. Some of the "intermediate" features require a bit of research. For example, basic conditional formatting is fairly straight forward—however, if you want to do even a little bit beyond basic, for example, look for duplicates (which is very straightforward in Excel), you need to apply custom functions within conditional formatting rules. And if you're not relatively informed or willing to sit through a YouTube tutorial, it's not going to be super clear what the correct answer is. Also, Google's customer service doesn't usually supply any help here; I've seen numerous threads between customers and Google where customers ask how to do very common tasks or ask about common features and the reply is a resounding "We don't do that.". I'm in a privileged position because I work at a company that actually teaches people how to use Google Sheets, so I have a free resource to teach myself tricks if necessary, but despite this, the syntax for "complicated" tasks is easy to forget and I do often find myself looking up the same things over and over again.

Reliable & Time Saving Organization Tool

Google sheets has saved me a lot of time and encouraged me to organize data and lists in table formats, which is a more accessible and attractive format. The many templates google sheets offers also saves me time so I don’t need to build everything from scratch. The fact that google sheets is free is amazing.
Vorteile
I use google sheets to keep track of email lists, budgets, and to list professional opportunities. I’m a PhD student and college instructor. Google sheets is great for making quick tables of info that I can share and allow people to add their info. So, instead of having to input everything myself, google sheets allows for more crowdsourcing and collaboration. It’s also a simple looking design that’s attractive and easy to read for a wide audience.
Nachteile
Google sheets has many buttons and drop down menu options. Despite this, I always have to search for how to perform certain functions beyond the basics. The buttons and menu options are not very clear or helpful. It’s very confusing and takes me awhile to learn how to perform basic functions. It’s sometimes a hassle to use google sheets for this reason.

I use Sheets for almost everything I do: meeting registration and check-in, financial tracking, event signup, project planning, media management. I even built a relational database entirely in Sheets (it runs a little slowly -- Sheets is NOT a database platform -- but it works for our organization size).
Vorteile
Google Sheets offers an excellent (see what I did there?) spreadsheet experience with easy team collaboration and loads of extensibility. I can share a sheet with collaborators and have easy-to-use, granular control over access levels from team member to team member, down to the individual spreadsheet cell! Google Apps Script means that if there's a feature you need that Sheets doesn't have, you can create it.
Nachteile
My only issue is that I can't customize the menus the way I could in Microsoft Excel. The finicky little differences in functionality between Sheets & Excel used to bother me, but that has fallen off over the years.

Almost as good as Excel

I do most, if not all, of my record-keeping in Sheets. It's length can be continued on and on without bogging down your computer like a large Excel file would. And being able to access it from anywhere at any time is a major plus.
Vorteile
Sheets is almost as good as Excel, but with slightly fewer features. My favorite thing about it, though, is that it's free and automatically saves to the cloud, meaning it can be accessed by just logging into your account from anywhere with an internet connection. Also very useful is being able to share it with others and collaborate on documents simultaneously, which is great for team projects. It also has a mobile phone app which is convenient for quick, on-the-fly changes. That is mainly why I switched from Excel.
Nachteile
It does have slightly fewer features than Excel, but mostly ones I can live without. I'm sure there's a way to do macros in Sheets, but that requires plugins and the like and I'm not quite advanced enough to do that.
I also wish there were optional in-app tutorials on things like how to write a specific formula or whatever.

This FREE software has become my go-to for all things spreadsheet. I do my billing on here, track my expenses, and run out possible financial scenarios (planning to buy a house... takes a lot of planning!).
Nachteile
Like any software, not everything translates perfectly, but I did just import all my dad's contacts from Quickbooks to a CSV file, and Google Sheets handled everything exactly right. That's not always the case, but that's the hazard of any program. I still don't understand the keyboard shortcuts like I did in the old days of Excel, but the online tutorials you can search for will pretty much solve whatever action you need to make in Sheets.

Google Sheets is great for working with spreadsheets collaboratively

Google Sheets captured me through its collaborative features which made my work and my teammates work a lot easier and faster.
Vorteile
Google Sheets grabbed my attention after multiple failed attempts to use another application used to create and edit sheets in a collaborative environment. For me this is the selling point for Google Sheets - it was built with collaborative work. As features to support this, it offers revision history, comments, direct messages and, most importantly, allows multiple people to work on the same sheet at the same time in a seemless way. Another strong point of Google Sheets is that it is available virtually everywhere there's a connection to the internet - desktop, iOS, Android and through web browsers.
Those points, for me, make it the go-to application for working with Sheets.
Nachteile
As weak points, I would say it's not as poweful as other popular tool for working with spreadsheets in terms of statistical analysis and visualization because the formulas behind many of them aren't available from the start. The user needs to do all the backend work in order for the output they desire. This, though, gets into the teritory of a more specialized area and, for most users, this minus won't be that big.

For one, we were able to eliminate 90% of our Office licenses since Word and Excel were the two most commonly needed. I use it for everything and since i also handle IT for the office I essentially dictated that Sheets is what is what we offer outside extraordinary circumstances. Always there, always works. It has really made things such as simple pricing reports, equipment tracking very simple. I have not used Excel for years.
Vorteile
It works great in all those usual spreadsheet ways but the sharing and collaboration is really top notch and while it's a bit standard nowadays when it launched it was really revolutionary. No more emailing files back and forth or file shares with permission issues. While many of those problems can be solved with good IT practices Sheets made it out of the box easy. It really just works and it's fast to load as well.
Nachteile
Printing setup could be better, i know that's a compromise with the browser running the show, but it almost always takes some adjusting to get things to print out the way you want.

Google Sheets - The New Industry Standard Spreadsheet Software

I previously worked as a data analyst for over 10 years, and literally half of my time was spent using Excel. After I became a freelancer, I switched to Google Sheets and haven't looked back. I find Google Sheets sleek and fast to use, whereas Excel now feels slow and clunky. I'd highly recommend Google Sheets to anyone as their first choice for spreadsheet software.
Vorteile
I love how simple to use Google Sheets is, that it is all online (but also with the ability to use it offline too - giving you the best of both worlds). If you have used Excel, then there is no learning curve, and Google Sheets is totally free. The collaboration is excellent, allowing you to work with clients in real-time while both updating the same document.
Nachteile
Google Sheets is very similar to Excel, and has about 95% of the same functionality. However, from time to time there is an advanced feature that I previously used from Excel that has no equivalent in Google Sheets. This is only for more advanced use cases, and on a day to day basis, it covers 99% of what I need to do.

Positive but often abused. I find myself in constant reminder to my team to have conversations about the direction we want to take in creating a doc/sheet before embarking. Working in today's generation it is often easy to slip into majority type or text for communication and forgetting the importance of verbal conversation. Often it can take longer for both parties to brainstorm, type, review, share, read, digest, type, review, respond, and so on and so forth.
Vorteile
I love being able to work on a project with another teammember simultaneously. This helps increase productivity and cut down on back and forth communications. Its nice to be able to discuss on a project on the phone and look through a sheet together even when video call with screen sharing is not available. I've found google sheets most helpful for tracking data on monthly events and being able to review the year on the whole.
Google sheets makes working across Mac/Windows computers much easier. Its nice to not have to worry about being able to see/access a sheet due to the other party not having and updated platform for Excel.
Nachteile
I caution working on google sheets together without having an agreed upon method for data management. Simple rules like 'only numbers OR only letters' in a single cell can be a good starting point. Frustrations can really rise if there is misunderstanding on general sheet management. You may find yourself documenting the same thing just on different sheets within the same sheet if you don't start with some basic rules.
Like google docs is similar but not the same as Word, so is google sheets to Excel. There are limitations to the functions in google sheets but it is an excellent starting point.
Biggest downside on the whole is being tied to an internet connection to be able to access information.

An amazing Cloud Based spreadsheet

I use Google Sheets for various business functions including inventory management, budgetary analysis and various other processes. I may not be able to do as much of the 'heavy lifting' as other spreadsheets out there, but it certainly gets the job done. The best part is, it's free!
Vorteile
1) Accessibility: You can access Google Sheets from any device at any time and continue working on a spreadsheet. This is because Google Sheets is cloud-based and your changes are saved in real-time.
2) Adaptability: If you've used MS Excel in the past, then using Google Sheets will be a piece of cake for you.
3) Document Sharing: Google Sheets makes it possible for you to share your spreadsheet with other people so that they can review your document in real-time.
4) Sharing Security Options: Not only is the spreadsheet sharing option an amazing feature, it also allows you to apply certain restrictions to the people you share your document with. For example, you may want someone to help you compose the document. You can give that person editing rights, as opposed to the 'view only' option where he can only view your spreadsheet without editing it.
Nachteile
1) Internet Connectivity: Since Google Sheets is cloud-based, you're going to have to stay connected to the internet. Although you have the 'edit offline' option, you're going to have to be connected to an internet connection in case you've shared your work with someone and they are referring to it on a regular basis.
2) Confusion: There could be a lot of confusion when two people are working on the spreadsheet at the same time. However, if you're careful enough, then Google Sheets highlights the cell that each user is currently editing with different colours.

One of their Finest Tools
Bewertet am 25.11.2019

I love Google Sheets because I can access it from anywhere and it is compatible to open any sheets made through with Excel. So you have a lot to work with and since it is properly connected with the internet and Google over all you can have more features implemented to your sheets that Excel would not be able to offer to you. Google Sheets over all is one of the best tools to help you make your data sheets and whatever else you may need a Spread Sheet for!
Vorteile
There are many things about Google Sheets that makes it incredible to use. Google Sheets implements the use of Google and has integrated google translate into the sheets mechanism. So not only do you have your basic formula letter values you get to enter you can also create quick translations into a sheet. By this I mean you can have a column of English and for example, the Japanese quickly translated into another column. This makes the whole system so much quicker and easier to use.
Now Google Sheets already does the basics of what Excel would have, but with MORE. Google Sheets also can be used to make worksheets, data and charts, graphs and more. The only thing is it sometimes takes a lot of trial and error to get used to the commands and everything else that is needed to get the hang of it you just need some practice and guidance since there is so much that you can do with it.
Nachteile
Sometimes it is difficult to get a hang of google sheets because at times it feels as though there is a little too much going on and at times it is difficult to get a good print out because the sheets would not come into the framing properly. So there really isn't a good boundary system with the Google Sheets system. Also, it is all connected to the cloud and internet, but it can be hard to have a proper save of your Sheets if anything with the internet goes wrong.

The Next Best Thing to Excel-Plus It's Free

My overall experience with Google Sheets has been overwhelmingly positive. I was so tired of paying hundreds of dollars for the MS Suite and feeling like I was trapped with their product. Now, Google Sheets is my go to software. I love that it's on the cloud and I can access my data anywhere. If you are looking for a free alternative to MS Excel than give Google Sheets a try. And don't worry, they don't skimp you on features. I think, like me, you'll be pleasantly surprised with the features that are provided.
Vorteile
What I like most about Google Sheets is that it shares most of the same features as MS Excel. However, the best part is that it's free. I also like how easy it was to set up and use. It's also very easy to collaborate and share files with my team. I use Google Sheets to track sales calls, leads, expenses, etc. Another added benefit is that it's all on the cloud. So accessing files is a breeze. This makes more sense for me to use than other alternative. Furthermore, Sheets can do almost everything that Excel can. In fact, I don't plan on using Excel anymore. With all of the features that Google keeps rolling out, it's only a matter of time before they catch up to Excel.
Nachteile
Truthfully, there really isn't anything that I don't like about Google Sheets. I mean, what is there to complain about, it's free. Google is always rolling out new features so the longer you use it the better it will get. If I had to pick out one thing, it would be the formatting. I ran into some trouble formatting and duplicates. However, I was able to find a solution on YouTube. The reality is that it will likely take you some time to get used to the functionality, but that's to be expected. Once you take the time to learn the basics the rest comes easy.

The ease of use, the fact that there is infinity undo’s, a timeline of all the changes youve made to the document, the query function as well as the importrange function make this product the most versatile program out there.
