Über Point of Rental Software

Rental Essentials von Point of Rental ist eine skalierbare, cloudbasierte Software zur Mietbestandsverwaltung, die sich für standortbasierte und mobile Vermietunternehmen aller Arten und Größen eignet. Anbieter können Produkte mit Fotos und Details in den Online-Shop hochladen. Wenn Kundschaft eine Reservierung vornimmt, werden die Daten automatisch mit dem Kalender von Rental Essentials synchronisiert und die Lagerbestände automatisch aktualisiert. Über das Anbieter-Dashboard von Rental Essentials können Nutzer die Vermietung und das Inventar mithilfe des Kalendertools verfolgen und einen Überblick über kürzliche Transaktionen, neue Reservierungen sowie ein- und ausgehende Mietvorgänge erhalten.

Zur weiteren Organisation bietet Rental Essentials ein farbcodiertes Kalendertool, das die Mietzeiträume für jedes Gerät im Katalog anzeigt, sodass Anbieter eine klare Übersicht über die Verfügbarkeit haben und Überbuchungen vermeiden können. Sobald eine Buchung von Kundschaft im Online-Shop getätigt wurde, können Anbieter die Reservierung akzeptieren und mit einem Tastendruck eine Bestätigung per E-Mail versenden. Rental Essentials fungiert auch als Point-of-Sale-System, indem Zahlungen und Kreditkartentransaktionen verarbeitet und Rechnungen versendet werden, sobald Buchungen bestätigt wurden.

Just dealing with the software that I own, it's great. I've used the software for 25 years so I know how to use it. Only time I need to call support is usually over credit card problems which they must deal with. If I was a user who needed support, it would be a hassle.

Vorteile

Ease of use. Once you learn how the software works, it's easy to teach others.

Nachteile

The customer support over the years has took a downward spiral. Only a few years ago, your call was answered and dealt with immediately, now your issued a ticket and most of the time called back, sometimes days after your call. Took over 2 months to get a price on an upgrade that's a ridiculous price.

Been using the software for 10 years now, wouldn't want to try anything else. For an intermediate-advanced computer user, the software is amazing. For most beginners, it is a struggle to learn and maintain.

Vorteile

We are able to run 80% of our business completely using POR, however the 20% that we want to include and/or improve upon is difficult to figure out, as it is very difficult to find articles/help tasks to self teach, and the support team of POR is so busy it takes a long time to get answers from them!

Nachteile

Very few training features - we have to incorporate internal company knowledge and printouts for all new hires, which is very time consuming. Very few important suggestions of UInnovate seem to happen, other than being noted as considered for future implementation.

It sounds like you'll also be excited to learn that we're in the process of rolling out a Learning Portal, which will have training and certificate processes so you're able to assign new hires coursework for self-paced learning. =D

Too Many Limitations for Any Serious Business to Consider for Online Bookings

It's one thing to have issues. Software is buggy. It's always evolving. But to have to pay...

It's one thing to have issues. Software is buggy. It's always evolving. But to have to pay $75/month for the right to call them and get help? Just awful. That would maybe be tolerable if they had a chat option. Nope. Or if they responded to emails swiftly. Nope. If you have a critical issue, you are on your own. Good luck. Your customers pay the price and you lose the business.

Vorteile

The back end is fine. Not great. It gets the job done, but the interface and UI for online is antiquated. There are so many platforms out there with slick functionality and workflow that they're getting left behind without some SERIOUS upgrades.

Nachteile

I can't say it all in 1,500 characters. Let's start with customer service. You actually have to pay $75 for phone customer service with most plans. Huh? That means either 1) you're likely to have so many issues that it's worth $75 to get help fixing them, or 2) They don't want to assist their customers unless they can extort an extra $75 for the honor. Absurd. We work with dozens of SaS companies, and nobody else does this.

Now to online bookings:

If you take bookings online you need to look elsewhere. Don't even consider Point of Rental. The online functionality is absolutely terrible. Scary bad.

Cart abandonment is the #1 issue facing web businesses these days, and creating redundant and unnecessary steps in the checkout process just can't happen.This is Ecommerce 101, don't stand between your customers and payment. As it sits right now, the POR checkout needs an overhaul.

1) Customers need the option to check out as a guest. Quick checkout. Every online business in the world offers this option. To make matters worse, the customer has to navigate back to their email after signing up for an account to confirm their email, and then navigate back to the site. Only to be hit with a Recaptca verification. After they've already verified their email. So they have to prove that they are who they are twice. Why can't they just pay and get their stuff? That's not to even mention all of the bugs with the checkout process. I don't know why they make it so difficult.

The software has benefited our company greatly. I have no experience with other rental programs so I do not have a reference, but I have been satisfied with POR.

Vorteile

I like the ability to find items that are not always easily found. I like that there are multiple ways to do things so there is a lot of flexibility.

Nachteile

There are some big bugs that affect business. Credit card processing, which may not be POR's fault gets messed up constantly which doesn't allow to close for end of day. The support team is always hard to connect to. They are usually very helpful when you do finally connect, but connecting is the challenge. There are several bugs that don't let the correct buttons show up. There are more steps on Elite than on Expert to do the same things. It constantly disconnects from something and has to reconnect. Screens will bounce back and forth from foreground to background. There are plenty more things wrong I cannot think of.

We have been using POR since 1998. Earl came out to set us up and we knew then that this was the best decision for our company. They always make you feel like you are part of their large family. I have had things come up (not necessarily with the software) and would call the support line for help and they are on it. If they don't have an immediate answer, you can know they are working on it immediately to help solve your problem. Great company to work with.

Vorteile

My first pro is the STAFF - always helpful and never make you feel like you are asking a dumb questions. Second, I love how that the software is user friendly. Third, the software has so much to offer. So whether you are a big firm or a very small firm like myself this software is a must.

Nachteile

I wish they were a little closer so I could go to conferences and training that they hold. Not that this is there fault - but it is the only Con I can come up with.
