Technicon CPQ is a configure-price-quote solution for manufacturers of complex products, for the development of custom price quotes, proposals, and bid packages. With a CAD engine for 2D drawings and 3D models, price generators, custom forms, reporting and analytics, document generation, and more, Technicon CPQ aims to help manufacturing businesses and sales teams produce accurate quotes for jobs, replicating the knowledge of product experts.
In order to aid manufacturers in providing an enhanced customer experience, whilst also streamlining sales and operations, Technicon CPQ generates price quotes, proposals, and orders entirely tailored to the customers needs. Clients can generate their own quotes by filling in a requirements form, with any conflicts highlighted and parameter changes suggested automatically, freeing sales teams to focus on other opportunities. The guided sales tools within Technicom CPQ collect customer requirements and transform them into the most suitable product, service, pricing, or bundle, and prices can be calculated based on the client and optimized for the market and margin.
Using the document generation tools within Technicon CPQ, users can automate the production of documents such as technical summaries, product sheets, user manuals, bills of materials, drawings, spare parts lists, and more using customizable templates. Data entered by clients during the quoting process can be extracted and transformed into 2D drawings or 3D models of products by CAD engines, ready for manufacturing, and bills of material are automatically attached to speed up the production process.
We get thousands of leads each week. Each customer gets a customized-just-for-their-needs product for their automation needs. Customers can search by part number, series name, keyword, phrase, or visual hierarchy. Sales is provided with highly qualified leads, and they know what products their customers are interested in from the start.
Technicon's software is the only solution for configuration (at least that I've seen--and I've looked at many configuration solutions) that doesn't require 'code' for configuration of rules.
Our products are complex, and even with three -way or four-way rules, you can select the fields, and use check-boxes to indicate when the rule should be invoked. You can add customized text to clearly explain the issue(s) which make it simple for customers to correct.
Technicon's software also scales up, allowing you to address complex needs, such as creating valve manifold assemblies. Our customers use this every day, and tell us that this solution is intuitive, easy-to-use, and saves them time.
If you have a lot of products (which we do) it can take some time to get used to 'where you need to go' to add the appropriate information. However, once you get used to it, it's easy to use.
As part of the team creating user interface designs for Technicon configurators, I loved their flexibility and thoughtful approach to applying those designs to the application. It's refreshing when a developer cares as much about the interface as I do.
No matter how good the configurator is, writing configuration rules is still one of my least favorite chores.
Very good customer support. Unfortunately, we did not select Technicon CPQ, due to the fact it was too complex for what the business wanted. Basically, the business decided not to go for any CPQ solution.
If you are looking for a CPQ solution, I would highly recommend Technicon. Great company that has been around for decades and will support you for the long haul.
Fantastic visual configurators. Very customisable and opportunity to integrate with other systems. Customer support was very good demonstrating the product and answering our questions.
Ease of use for the end user to configure and select the correct products to quote.
Setting up and maintaining the configurators would be a full time job. Lots of complex logic and rules behind the scenes that drive the configuration experience for the end user. But this is similiar for most other CPQ products on the market.
