Über Mural
MURAL ist eine Software für Kollaborationsverwaltung, mit der Unternehmen Ideen planen, entwerfen, analysieren, Brainstorming durchführen und nutzerdefinierte Arbeitsabläufe erstellen können, um die Entscheidungsfindung zwischen Teams zu optimieren. Die Plattform ermöglicht es Unternehmen, Dokumente in einem zentralen AES-256-verschlüsselten Repository zu speichern und Daten sicher mit Teammitgliedern zu teilen.
MURAL enthält einen Ideenbereich, mit dem Teilnehmende Ideen auf einer digitalen Pinnwand mit Haftnotizen anzeigen und Informationen mithilfe von Listen, Methoden, Frameworks, Flussdiagrammen und Grafiken organisieren können, um Aufgaben auszurichten und zu planen. Darüber hinaus ermöglicht die Planungsfunktion Führungskräften das Einstellen von Timern für Aktivitäten, das Einladen von Nutzern, das Bereitstellen von rollenbasiertem Zugriff auf bestimmte Abschnitte der Leinwand, das Sperren von Inhalten und das Ausführen von Umfragen, um einen zeitnahen Projektabschluss sicherzustellen.
Mit den Planungsfunktionen von MURAL können Administrationsteams Workshops entwerfen, Customer Journeys abbilden und Strategien bewerten, um Brainstorming-Sitzungen zu erleichtern. Die Lösung unterstützt auch die Integration in verschiedene Drittanbieteranwendungen wie Dropbox, Microsoft Teams, Jira, GitHub, Slack, Google Calender, OneDrive und The Noun Project.

Using Mural in the Professional Services world

Vorteile
During the pandemic, we started using Mural as a way to collaborate with each other. We had in person workshops which were obviously affected. We experimented with using Mural for one our our games/exercises and do it virtually. It was fun to see how far we could push the application outside of it's core design. We use it now for whiteboarding in virtual sessions, brainstorming and mapping.
Nachteile
So far we haven't had much negative feedback on Mural. As we have more users come in and use the software we'll gather feedback and share.

Despite some of the functionality having an additional learning curve, Mural serves as an excellent way for remote teams (and even teams just wanting a more 'digital' brainstorming experience) to collaborate.
Vorteile
I love how easy Mural makes the process of visual 'mind-mapping' among remote co-workers. If we want to do an exercise, for example, that requires virtual 'sticky-notes' for brainstorming process improvements, Mural facilitates this process seamlessly.
Nachteile
Mural does take a little time to get up to speed on using it. You can definitely jump right in on some of the basic features, but to use some of its more advanced features (keyboard shortcuts, for example), it will take some time to learn them.

Vorteile
Easy to access, and get everyone onto the platform. Fun animal names were a nice touch. The interface has improved over time but is fundamentally flawed.
Nachteile
Was a glorified whiteboard. For the price we would pay to support the business, Mural would do little more for us than to provide a simple whiteboard to put down ideas and discuss. Although this is nice to get ideas out there - it lacks the ability to create structure and keep things organized over time. Would find ourselves consistently looking for information as it was lost - not sure how we could've implemented the software in a valuable way in the long term.

I have gotten our team on board to use Mural when we'd typically use a whitebaord in meetings. it's been great for facilitating brainstorm sessions or mindmapping in our remote environment.
Vorteile
I find Mural more intuitive to use and less buggy than other whiteboarding tools. The app especially syncs quickly so you can use an ipad and pencil to write on the whiteboard, and have it projected through a desktop to a conference room or virtual meeting. I also like that the white boards are infinite (or at least as far as I can tell). Even though the number of free boards is limited to three, you have tons of space to work with in each one.
Nachteile
I don't love the provided templates; I typically end up using my own for simplicity.

This tool achieves many problems and is suitable for everyday use, personal use, small groups, and large working groups.
Personal Use: visual organization and planning
Small Groups: can quickly move ideas into visual representations that make it very easy to share with other people. MURAL's often become the foundation for projects which people come back to time and time again. It is very satisfying to collaborate with colleagues in this way as much of the applications we use day to day are only design for single users.
Workshops: MURAL is powerful when put in the hands of a facillitator who can then guide a group of people through experiential learning and discussions which lead to emergent thinking and non-intuitive insights.
Visual Documentation: Over the years I have become very proficient as a visual note taker in mural and can listen to speaker or meeting proceed and capture the meeting in a visually engaging way.
Vorteile
Mural is hands down the most versatile visual communication tool available today. What I love the most is that I can use the tool every day and that its easy enough for most people to get the hang of within a few minutes, allowing anyone to interact in high fidelity.
Nachteile
The one thing I don't like about Mural is that some people aren't pro users—I wish everyone were =) Also wish that MURALs could be a first class object in GSuite's Drive =)
