> **Vorteile**: The best part of Sage is the banking connections. Although they sometimes disconnect, the ability to load in transactions drastically reduces the administrative load of bookkeeping.

> **Nachteile**: No YE closing date so you have to remove prior year P\&L to all for COA to be accurate in current year. There should be a close period to allow for YOY performance comparison. Auto-reversing accruals also not an option for JE.
> 
> Overall it is good for small businesses, though I would be considering a more functional program in the future when I grow.

> **Vorteile**: It's easy to use\! Sage has logical flow to the information and how the work gets done. Once you know where everything is, you're flying. Reports are very good; you can get summaries or drill-down and find each transaction. Financial statements are easy to read and easy to produce. If you do run into a problem, the knowledge base is great and the customer service team really tries to solve every problem on the first go.

> **Nachteile**: The bank connection can be a bit temperamental... I've had to re-connect countless times. Sometimes it offers the option to just re-enter the credential information, but that is not always the case. Hopefully, that is something they are working on (it has improved over time).
> 
> Sage is a good, value-based accounting package. I would definitely recommend for for small business owners that want to stay involved with their own finances, but are not accountants themselves. Accountants and bookkeepers would also love this because of all of the features and the ease of access of the reporting.
