The entire Autodesk Fusion ecosystem enables work and collaboration on rapid prototyping (3D printing, low rate CNC milling and lathe work).
The available power managing model workflow by integrating it into the Fusion infrastructure is tremendous, and opens new doors for managing collaborative teams. The power elsewhere in the Fusion360 portfolio (easy enough for engineers as entry level users to pick up and start designing models for additive manufacturing and use for finite element work) remains accessible.
The ramp-up of contextual knowledge is pretty steep, and getting the most out of this is inherently challenging. The PLM software does a great job of its core function set, and the documentation is good, but the gulf between entry level users and really proficient workflow implementation is pretty massive.
Great for Schematics, 3D modeling and more. We use it for rapid prototyping and creating 3D printables. Such a cool program.
Lots of features with 3D programs take a while to learn and fusion is the same. They do have a lot of help videos to get you going though
I am learning this to get a step up where I am employed.
I love the rendering and easy layout. Easy use tabs that are listed with description with pictures when you hover over the button.
Some of the editing could be a little easier. Such as editing a stl. file takes a few steps for you to be able to edit. Would like to see it I one to two steps.
Accelerate additive design and manufacturing
This software was the most helpful for our engineers to machine, print, inspect and fabricate better parts very fast.
We just wish their support team was a little bit more available and flexible with time when we ask questions or need any type of help.
The amount of options is limitless in the software. Anything you can think of can be accomplished, but it takes a lot of time and skill to figure it out.
The learning curve for this software is huge. It is quite a bit different than using any other autodesk product. Once you have learned the tricks, it can be useful.
Autodesk® Fusion Lifecycle unleashes a breadth of powerful product lifecycle management capabilities that can help make your product development processes more efficient, get your products to market earlier, and empower every department to make your entire business run faster.

Supplier Collaboration and Management
A product lifecycle management solution designed to improve the way organizations manage processes, projects, and people, Autodesk automates key business tasks and tells its users what they need to know, when they need to know it. Autodesk can help organizations track changes, eliminate bottlenecks, improve time management issues, and connect to important business systems.
Designed specifically for fast growing companies and young small businesses, Autodesk is a completely configurable solution. The SaaS product is available as a subscription model, which makes it a viable solution for early-stage startups looking for ways around any operational roadblocks they may be facing. Some of Autodesk’s key features include bill of materials (BOM) management, change notifications, real-time to-do lists, and historical change traceability.
Autodesk is a product lifecycle management application for businesses of any size in the automotive and transportation, building products and fabrication, consumer products, industrial machine, high tech, and medical sciences industries. The cloud-based solution provides its users with tools to keep track of changes, eliminate bottlenecks and broken processes, and keep employees on the same page.
Rather than manually copying data and moving it from one system to another, or wasting hours creating daily status updates and reports, organizations can use Autodesk to manage, visualize, and share data in real-time. Using configurable tools like Engineering Change Requests and Engineering Change Orders, executives, engineers, and project managers are able to get clearer understandings of their processes and workflows.
Autodesk provides users with tools for managing, visualizing, and sharing bill of management (BOM) information in real-time. Executives and engineers can quickly access comprehensive data about component parts and assembly productions, and they have complete revision control to ensure that everyone within their organizations is referencing the most updated versions of information at all time.
Autodesk’s BOM management system reduces the risk of downstream errors, and decreases instances in which executives have to re-work existing solutions. Autodesk also offers integrated components and product visualization, enabling users to view both 2D and 3D product representations.
Organizations that are looking for configurability options can rely on Autodesk’s change requests and change order workflows. Formal and fast-track options are available, and both can be configured to meet a business’ specific processes.
Manage the process of change requests and change orders in real-time, immediately identifying and resolving bottlenecks before they become problems for your team. Autodesk’s change management solution is available within an integrated PLM environment, which means you’ll have access to all the details necessary when management changes for product stakeholders.
Time is of the essence when it comes to quality management issues. Autodesk understands this, which is why the company has come up with its own quality management module that connects processes from return authorizations (RMA) to change orders (ECO).
Using a series of standardized processes, you can manage new processes based on the outcomes of previous processes. This system ensures that execution of business process is standardized, and it reduces the risk of expensive errors. Using Autodesk, you can also take corrective and preventative actions (CAPA) to improve understanding about particular processes amongst staffers within your own organization.
Rather than hunting around for paperwork and supplier information, Autodesk users can reference all of their important documents in one place. Autodesk’s supplier information management system is secure, and it includes built-in apps for things like approving manufacturer lists and approving vendor lists.
Time-based supplier review process workflows allow you to track the status of your procurements in real-time, on a 24/7 basis. Stakeholders (including both yourself and your work teams) are notified whenever reviews are due for suppliers, and status updates are widely visible throughout your organization.
Autodesk has built integrations to automatically assemble data from other business systems and help process owners manage the constant flow of information. Using Jitterbit, organizations are able to connect Autodesk to their existing standards-based systems and databases. An API is also available for programmers wishing to program custom solutions. One deep integration focused on transforming the manufacturing world is between Autodesk and Netsuite OneWorld ERP.
Autodesk is available on a monthly pricing basis. Users can choose between Pro accounts, at $75 per user, per month, or Enterprise accounts, at $150 per user, per month. PLM 360 Connect is available for purchase through both plans. Additionally, organizations can add as many Participants as necessary for an extra $25 per user, per month.
